Expert consultant advice for school systems

This book was the product of a contract awarded to Bolt, Beranek and Newman, Inc by the U.S. National Institute of Education. It reviews a variety of educational programs that claim to teach intelligence, reasoning, general problem solving and learning skills, including a review of any available evidence of effectiveness. The intention was to provide expert consultant advice to school systems considering adoption of these programs. So, this book differs from the majority of available books that simply promote one particular program. I have given it four stars rather than five because the sample of programs discussed is less comprehensive than it might have been. School people might not find the particular program they are wondering about.

This book is tedious. The subject itself is very interesting so, if you are lucky like I was and you get a good Professor, then it will be OK. Just keep up with the review questions and you will be fine.

The context itself feels repetitive at points and is not easy to read (coming from someone who usually has no problem reading, whether it be literature, textbooks or media)). Information is thrown at you (as can be expected in a textbook) in large, complex sentences full of lengthy examples that could be easily condensed, improving comprehensibility for students.

too hard to convert

I had no idea, (probably my fault) that this was all in metric, I am from the way back a long time ago
school, I am 75 yrs. old and they did not make us learn the metric tables, I find this book almost
useless to me, for those who know how to convert, it would be good, recipes look good , just cannot
use them my self, so it was money wasted, sorry.

I will still shop at Amazon, I love the ease and confidence I have built with Amazon, It is my favorite
place to shop, also love that almost always, there prices are lower than anywhere else.

I wanted a book that gave me recipes for completely cooking in the Nu Wave oven, not something that required frying, saut�ing, and otherwise preparing a meal that THEN goes into the NWO. Will try to return it.
